Affordable Skiing Makes Learning To Ski A Family Affair

Dreaming of skiing in Colorado, but not looking forward to the expensive prices? SolVista Basin at Granby Ranch is one of the Colorado Gems, with the most affordable skiing and riding, along with terrain and amenities that the whole family can enjoy. With SolVista Basin being one of the Colorado Gems, you can expect a resort off the beaten path, where you'll find shorter lift lines, smaller crowds, down-to-earth prices, and a great family atmosphere. Lift ticket pricing begins with children under five ski for FREE and seniors over 70 ski for just $10. Junior (6-12 years) tickets are $38 for a full day and $30 for a half-day. Adults (13-60 years) ski for just $56 for a full day and $48 for a half-day. Senior (61-69 years) lift tickets are $42 for a full day and $34 for a half-day. Ski and snowboard rentals range from $23 to $32 per day and the Children’s Center costs $99 per day.

SolVista Basin at Granby Ranch has two separate yet interconnected mountains that the whole family will enjoy. Terrain varies from the East Mountain, which offers beginner and intermediate skier’s paradise and the West Mountain, which offers more advanced terrain. The best part about SolVista Basin is that you are sure to see your family and friends learning to ski or enjoying the slopes, since all trails lead to the shared Base Camp Lodge. The Base Camp Lodge also offers a view of the trails where non-skiers can watch their family and friends on the slopes. SolVista Basin has fun and professionally trained ski instructors that will teach guests how to ski or work on perfecting ones skills. For the little ones that can’t make it all day, SolVista Basin has a great Children’s Center or half day ski school lessons. After the slopes close for the day, families can enjoy dinner at the Seven Trails Grille along with snow tubing and night skiing under the lights on Saturdays from 5-8 p.m.

After a day on the slopes, enjoy ski-in-ski-out lodging at Base Camp One. Base Camp One offers one-, two-, and three-bedroom condominium residences and penthouses with ski-in-and-out convenience right at the base of SolVista Basin ski area. Base Camp One was designed around family gatherings, with rustic yet refined residences that are open, light and comfortably appointed. These are homes where one can relax with the family and friends, take in the unobstructed views of the mountains, and revel in the outdoor playground.
