Casa Ceibo Wins Second Consecutive Award From Equador's Ministry Of Tourism

Most Recent Recognition Spotlights the Luxury Hotel's Excellence

and Elite Green Star Diamond Award Status

Once again, Casa Ceibo Boutique Hotel & Spa has been honored with prestigious recognition from Ecuador's Ministry of Tourism. In a recent ceremony, which took place at Quito's historic San Francisco Plaza, Deputy Minister Luis Falconi gave notable prizes and awards to 11 individuals and eight travel/tourism-related businesses. For the second consecutive year, Casa Ceibo ( http://www.casaceibo.com), a luxury destination on the outskirts of the coastal city, Bahia de Caraquez, won an award for its proactive role in enhancing Ecuador's tourism environment.

Specifically, Casa Ceibo has maintained its unique status as Ecuador's first and only five-star hotel to receive the Green Star Diamond Award two years in a row, according to Daniel Jacome, who as co-owner of Casa Ceibo accepted the recognition on behalf of his partner, Charles Van Diver of Destin, FL, and the hotel's exceptional staff.

This highly coveted international award is presented exclusively by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences ( http://www.stardiamondaward.com), which recognizes the world's finest tourism and hospitality businesses and boasts a prestigious board of directors and honorary trustees.

"On behalf of everyone at Casa Ceibo, I'm very proud to accept this honor from Ecuador's Ministry of Tourism," says Jacome, who is also the drummer for Ecuador's hit rock band, Tercer Mundo. "As Casa Ceibo continues to make a mark with international tourism, it's committed to delivering the very best hospitality experience to people right here in Ecuador. Casa Ceibo is a showcase of Ecuador's finest offerings and talent — from our superior accommodations to the first-class service, activities, excursions and community outreach."

The ceremony and celebration at the San Francisco Plaza drew a big crowd comprising notable public and private figures — government officials, trade representatives from the tourism industry, entrepreneurs and even national celebrities. Falconi spoke to the significance of Ecuador's tourism growth, as well as the awards and recognition, noting the importance of responsible tourism practices that "promote peace, love, friendship and a love of life" — values that Ecuadorians fervently cherish throughout their country and communities alike.

From its inception, the award-winning Casa Ceibo has worked to make its "little corner of the world" a better place. The hotel is an exquisite tribute to Ecuador and an expression of its attractive people and rich, diverse culture. It's also an organization of people who are determined to preserve and enhance what's truly special about Ecuador. As such, Casa Ceibo has embraced the opportunity to support the local community, culture and environment through a number of social outreach projects and eco-initiatives.
