Once again,

Ministry of Tourism. In a recent ceremony, which took place at Quito's historic San Francisco Plaza, Deputy Minister Luis Falconi gave notable prizes and awards to 11 individuals and eight travel/tourism-related businesses. For the second consecutive year, Casa Ceibo (

Specifically, Casa Ceibo has maintained its unique status as Ecuador's first and only five-star hotel to receive the Green Star Diamond Award two years in a row, according to
Daniel Jacome, who as co-owner of Casa Ceibo accepted the recognition on behalf of his partner,
Charles Van Diver of Destin, FL, and the hotel's exceptional staff.
This highly coveted international award is presented exclusively by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences (

Falconi spoke to the significance of Ecuador's tourism growth, as well as the awards and recognition, noting the importance of responsible tourism practices that "promote peace, love, friendship and a love of life" — values that Ecuadorians fervently cherish throughout their country and communities alike.
