Presenting: 2010 News At Illustrious Palm Springs Resort: Renaissance Esmeralda

Renaissance Esmeralda Introduces Popular ‘Celebrity’ Salon at the Spa, New Menus, Additional Family-Friendly Activities and Renovated “Tween” Spaces as Part of
Renaissance Hotels’ Re-branding

With 354 days of sunshine each year, Indian Wells is already well into its sunny days of 2010. Showing a warm forecast for the resort, the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa, a member of the Marriott group, is offering plenty of new menus, activities and amenities for guests to enjoy the endless sunshine.

Just 13 miles outside of Palm Springs, the Renaissance Esmeralda is a distinctive desert resort set against the beautiful Santa Rosa Mountains. The resort recently opened Stir, an innovative event space that transforms from a “tween” room with Wii video games, computer access and snacks to a magnificent, functional meeting space with fantastic floor-to-ceiling views of the Santa Rosa Mountains fit for any business or social occasion.

“The Renaissance Esmeralda is deeply connected to, and reflective of the Coachella Valley, one of the most unique and enriching destinations in California,” says Tim Sullivan, general manager. “As we introduce these new activities and amenities, we are delighted that our guests have the opportunity to experience our spectacular mountains, great trails and rich cultural history. Our associates are ambassadors to our guests and enjoy sharing what they love about the Valley.” Having undergone massive renovation in late 2009, the Renaissance Esmeralda’s lobby lounge Glo features a new look, menu and chic sushi bar. The menu includes mouthwatering tapas including homemade donuts, chipotle popcorn and crab cake sliders. Also introducing the first certified sake sommelier in the Coachella Valley, the Sushi Bar introduces an intriguing menu complete with sushi and sake pairings to delight every tastebud. The multi-award-winning cuisine at the resort also features new menu items at Cava, known for its California cuisine, as well as cherished guest favorites including the signature frozen Arnold Palmer, ricotta pancakes and the delightful yogurt smoothies at breakfast, served complimentary.

The Renaissance Esmeralda has recently introduced Phase Two of its popular Nickelodeon Getaway Program. Kids can now enjoy even more time with Spongebob Squarepants and Dora the Explorer as the resort has begun hosting Nickelodeon themed birthday parties, slime tastings for the brave, and an expanded schedule of activities for the whole family. The resort also welcomes a new member to its seasoned spa staff, opening Agim Salon at the Esmeralda Spa. The full-service salon is overseen by celebrity hairstylist, Agim Rakipi, a highly experienced salon manager and stylist. His clientele includes Cindy Crawford, Paris Hilton, Judge Judy, Rosario Dawson and Jaclyn Smith.
