Keswick Hall Offers The Complete Itinerary For A Destination Winter Wedding

Nestled amongst the rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Keswick Hall forests the scene for an idyllic winter wedding. The hotel’s elegant surroundings and upscale amenities make it the perfect destination for an “ultimate take over.” With the option to exclusively book the entire 48-room Tuscan-style villa, each unique and luxurious space can be privately booked for friends and family of the bride and groom. With Keswick’s impeccable attention to detail, astonishing views and classic taste, the staff ensures every ceremony is memorable for each and every occasion. Even without booking “the ultimate takeover,” Keswick will tailor every activity and event to the specific needs and interests of guests. One dream itinerary is as follows…

Thursday/ Two days before...
As the bridal party arrives on the estate, the hotel staff will welcome all with on-site amenities to unwind after a day of traveling. In the afternoon, the bride and groom will assemble the bridal party to mingle over an exclusive wine tasting with an assortment of fine cheeses at Fossett’s Bar ($35.00 per person) before splitting off for bachelorette and bachelor festivities. Keeping in mind the Maid of Honor and Best Man, the hotel offers simplicity and flexibility. The men may decide to retire to billiards, cocktails and cards at Fossett’s Bar, while the women retreat for a sleepover, complete with in-room martinis and a movie over room service.

Friday/ One day before…
The bride and bridesmaids will start the day with the Villa Crawford Lunch, including their warm soup of the day, signature Cobb salad, and a delicious buffet of entrées, artisan cheeses, and delicate sweets ($19 per person), before proceeding to the spa for manicures, pedicures, and a peach paraffin dip ($130 per person). Or, the pampering session can be arranged as a private en suite affair, with massages ($140 per person) while sharing stories over chilled champagne (starting at $40 per bottle). Meanwhile, the groomsmen will spend the day on Keswick’s own Signature Arnold Palmer golf course, taking in a round before settling in at the clubhouse for 60-minute Swedish massages at the Keswick Spa ($115 per person) followed by cocktails and cigars at the Palmer Room Bar. As family and friends check-in for the weekend’s occasion, Afternoon Tea at Villa Crawford will be the perfect way to settle in and catch up with other guests. From Thursday to Sunday, Afternoon Tea is available from 3:00 – 5:00pm ($20-$28 per person) where family and friends can also enjoy the traditional and freshly-made scones, assorted pastries, lemon curd, and tea sandwiches. After a day of relaxation and leisure, the entire group, guests and bridal party included, gather for the night’s celebrations in the Keswick Ballroom, or depending on the size of the party, Fossett’s Restaurant for the rehearsal dinner.

Saturday/ The day of…
As the big day arrives, the passionate couple can catch one last glance with an hour of the Chocolate Cherry Couples massage ($230 per couple), performed side-by-side by two professional therapists. Hours before the ceremony, Keswick’s en-suite primping will have all bridesmaids dazzling with beauty without any worries from the bride. Depending on the bride and groom’s previous arrangements with the hotel, the ceremony is then hosted in the area’s most stunning churches, or in one of Keswick’s private spaces, many with wood-burning fireplaces, which set the perfect atmosphere for a cozy winter wedding. Following the ceremony, the Keswick Ballroom will welcome all friends and family for cocktails, dinner, and dancing throughout the evening (Available for up to 160 to 210 people). Without spoiling the surprise, the bride and groom will return to the room for the evening, romantically embellished by Keswick’s love butler.

Sunday/ The day after…

As the weekend’s love affairs continue, family and friends of the bride and groom will cherish last night’s memories over brunch at Fossett’s Restaurant. While the bride and groom look forward to their honeymoon, remaining friends and family will look forward to swimming in the club’s indoor pool, lounging by the roasting fireplace and feeling at ease with the hotel’s caring staff before departing the pristine atmosphere of Keswick Hall.
