Desert Hot Springs Spa A Tour 2011 Date Announces

Tickets on Sale December 1, 2010

Spa enthusiasts from around the country are already making plans to attend “Spa Tour 2011," a fun and experiential evening touring multiple major mineral water spa facilities in Desert Hot Springs, California – dubbed by travelers “The Healing Mineral Springs Capital of California” – on Thursday, February 3, 2011 from 4 – 8pm.

A joint project of the Chamber of Commerce, Cabot’s Pueblo Museum and the Hoteliers Association, the event begins with a cocktail reception at the historic Cabot’s Pueblo Museum, a landmark location homesteaded in 1913 by Desert Hot Springs founding father Cabot Yerxa.  “We’re very excited to again offer our Spa Tour,” said Judy Bowman, Hotelier’s Association president. “The tour sold out quickly last year so we increased the number of tickets so more people could take advantage of this tremendous opportunity, but we do expect it to sell out again. It’s a great way to see the wide variety of spas available, including many walled, private enclaves that are only accessible to guests.”

In addition to the hosted spa tours, Spa Tour 2011 will include refreshments and fabulous giveaways. Prizes include a wide variety of exclusive spa services and overnight stays.  Three different routes will offer coach transportation between nearby spas and will originate from Cabot’s Museum, located at 67-616 Desert View Ave (just a few blocks east of Palm Drive). Following the complimentary reception, brief presentation about Desert Hot Springs’ award-winning hot natural mineral waters and their legendary discovery by Cabot Yerxa, ticket holders can enjoy all three routes.

More than 15 spas will be featured including the famed Two Bunch Palms, with each location offering complimentary refreshments. Gifts will also be offered at most of the spas. Guests wishing to stay overnight or for the weekend will find many area spas offering special discounts when “Spa Tour 2011” is mentioned when booking a reservation.

Please visit www.VisitDesertHotSprings.com for a complete list of participating mineral spring resorts. Advance discounted tickets to “Spa Tour 2011” are just $15 for a self-guided tour and $20 for a premium motorcoach tour hosted by docents. These discounted tickets are only available online and must be purchased by January 3, 2011. Afterwards, any remaining tickets will be sold at $20 and $25 respectively. Starting December 1st tickets can be purchased online at www.deserthotsprings.com. Only 550 total tickets will be sold.

Profits from “Spa Tour 2011” will be donated to Camp of Champions A & M, Inc., a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that offers free, rewards-based soccer clinics for elementary and middle-school students in Desert Hot Springs and throughout the Coachella Valley and the Marine Jr. ROTC program which provides scholarships to every cadet who continues his or her education after high school.

Built on two large underwater mineral springs aquifers, one hot and one cold, Desert Hot Springs has more than 20 boutique resorts, most of which offer spas, pools and Jacuzzis filled with the therapeutic, relaxing water from hot mineral springs deep beneath the ground and cooled to a comfortable temperature. Pure and odor-free, the water has a silky quality. In fact, Spa Magazine referred to the pools at The Spring as “instant bliss.” With resorts that range from just four rooms to 110, you’re sure to find a style and size that’s perfect as your own healing hideaway.
