Extend Your Summer With Warm Weather Fun January Through March At The Hotel Shangri-la

Summer in Los Angeles is a state-of-mind that Angelenos hold on to each year, and the spirit of the warm days and balmy nights never ends at the Hotel Shangri-la. Set on the cliffs just above the Pacific Ocean in Santa Monica, Hotel Shangri-la is surrounded by an abundance of outdoor activities that keep the carefree feeling alive year around. Santa Monica truly embodies what Southern California lifestyle is all about. With its temperate weather, fun outdoor activities and carefree mentality, it has the ambience of a resort city.

It makes no difference whether it’s August or January, because something great is only a few minutes away from the Hotel Shangri-la’s front doors. From the bike path stretching from Malibu to the Southbay, to sublime hiking trails weaving and winding until they reach unexpected waterfalls to simply catching the ocean breeze and flying a kite on the open sand, the seasons change, but the summer-like fun continues. When it’s time to retire from nature’s backyard, then it’s back to the intimate lobby or the privacy of one of the hotel’s many ocean view rooms for a hot beverage or seasonal cocktail. As the sun finally sets, those who want to partake in a little traditional winter time activity need only walk a few blocks to Santa Monica’s outdoor skating rink (ICE), skate a few laps and head back to the hotel to plan their next day.

As the cooler weather sets in, warm up with a soothing hot cocktail at the Hotel Shangri-la. Offering five signature libations at $13 each, The Hotel Shangri-la’s new hot cocktail menu can be enjoyed in the roof top lounge, Suite 700, or pool side in a warm toasty cabana and of course the hotel’s renowned restaurant, The Dining Room. Hand crafted drinks are: Grandma’s Honey Pot, chamomile citron tea, Makers Mark Whiskey, Grand Marnier and honey; Glowine, a heady blend of cinnamon, cloves and simmering red wine; The Smokin’ Cocoa, a sultry mix of malted hot chocolate, chipotle, rum and chipotle marshmallows; Classic Irish Coffee, prepared to perfection: Irish Whiskey, coffee and house made whipped cream and the Café La, combines Stoli Vanilla Vodka, Frangelico, coffee and house made chocolate whipped cream.

There’s nothing better than watching the sun set over the Pacific while sipping a hot, soothing cocktail by a warm fire,” comments Hotel Shangri-la owner, Tamie Adaya. For more information contact your travel professional, dial them direct at (310) 394-2791, or call (877) 999-1301 for reservations.
