Allensworth "Scat To Rap" Hip Hop Celebration

WE CAN Foundation proudly presents the Allensworth "SCAT TO RAP" Family Music Festival...Celebrating all the genres of Black Music and African rhythms from Blues and Gospel to Jazz, Be-Bop, to Doo-Wop and R&B to "Conscious" Hip-Hop. The Festival will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011. The festivities will begin at 11:00 A.M. at the Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park in Tulare County and includes:
  • All-day live stage performances of music ensembles to oral narratives, spoken word and dramatic presentations;
  • Food, art & crafts vendors/exhibitors; children’s activities; and Oral History Narratives (Buffalo Soldiers, CA African American Genealogical Society). Festival is a fundraiser for agencies supporting the needs and providing services to our emancipated youth (youth "aging out" of the foster care system.
Live stage performances from Gospel, Be Bop to Hip Hop, from Scat to Rap, Blues and Jazz , music ensembles to oral narratives, spoken word and dramatic presentations. Showtime for the stage performances are: Saturday, 11:00 A.M. to 6:00 PM. Celebrating the legacy of Tupac
