For two days, 10 of the hottest headlining comedians in the entertainment industry and some of the biggest players in the comedy circuit will come together on one stage in one of the country's premiere travel destination spots as part of The Atlantic City Comedy Festival. For the second year in a row, the Eastern Seaboard and surrounding cities will experience funny on a whole new level during one of the year's favorite holiday weekends when The
Atlantic City Comedy Festival returns to
Historic Boardwalk Hall on Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4. Tickets are available at the Boardwalk Hall Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, at
www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 736-1420.
Against a backdrop which includes Atlantic City's famous piers, an acclaimed Boardwalk, beautiful beaches, fantastic nightlife, shopping and world class casinos and hotels, The Atlantic City Comedy Festival makes Labor Day Weekend not just another comedy show outing, but an unforgettable weekend getaway. Last year's festival attracted almost 10,000 comedy fans to Atlantic City's Historic Boardwalk Hall. The festival returns to Boardwalk Hall with sponsorship by
Caesars Entertainment and features some spectacular talent from last year as well as some new, fresh faces in the line-up.
Returning to be a part of the 2nd Annual Atlantic City Comedy Festival are critically acclaimed actor and comedian
Mike Epps, who was most recently seen in the hit movie,
Jumping The Broom, the reigning female comedian in the game,
Sommore, comedian/actor
Bruce Bruce, Gary Owen, star of Tyler Perry's hit TV show,
"House of Payne" and Philadelphia native
TuRae. Joining the line up for the first time around are co-host of the nationally syndicated hit radio show -
The Steve Harvey Morning Show, actress/comedian
Sheryl Underwood and comedians
Arnez J, Tony Rock, Michael Colyar and
Damon Williams. From sold-out arenas, top grossing comedy tours, number one films at the box office, top rated comedy specials and TV shows, ground-breaking TV shows and specials, internationally and nationally syndicated radio shows, these comics have seen and done it all.
According to festival organizers, "comedy and Atlantic City, as seen by last year's success with the festival, are a perfect fit. The festival not only gives people an incredible night of comedy, but also gives them the chance to make a weekend out of it as they take time to experience everything that Atlantic City has to offer." It is the hope of festival organizers that The Atlantic City Comedy Festival becomes an annual event and a permanent fixture to the entertainment scene.
Throughout the year, organizers of the festival have spearheaded some of the most successful comedy tours, including
The Royal Comedy Tour and
The Mike Epps & Friends Comedy Tour, which was met with sold out audiences from coast to coast and the
Big Easy Comedy Festival, which also brought some of the comedy world's best to New Orleans over Memorial Day Weekend in May. Mike Epps and Sommore appeared on and/or headlined both tours, as well other featured comedians on this year's festival. It is the hope of organizers that the second installment of The Atlantic City Comedy Festival will be met with the same enthusiasm anticipation as last year and supersedes the success of last year.
