Our 3-Day Disney Birthday Mystery Cruise to Nassau, Bahamas December 2, 2010 was a success and great fun. Our group was composed of members from Young Adults, and more seasoned travelers from the Wisdom Group, with some first time cruisers coming from both groups. We all had a fantastic time. The 3-day cruise to Nassau aboard the Disney Wonder was really good for our beginning cruisers since it gave them an opportunity to experience a cruise and new places with all the added enjoyment of legendary Disney characters and entertainment. Our first mystery award celebration met in Steam Boat Willie Lounge, which is an excellent venue to solve mysteries and celebrate birthdays or special occasions. Disney Wonder’s staff did an excellent job of preparing for our first meeting with refreshments and props. Our meeting places and spaces were well organized by our meeting planner Desiree from the events department and Colin from the front desk. Some comments from our first time Cruisers – “I can’t believe I’ve never done this before.” “I’m sold and will tell everyone they must take a relaxing fun Cruise.” “How relaxing and fun. Disney movies and characters were really enjoyable.” “The spa was wonderful and the food delicious.” The final meeting to solve the last mystery took place on Disney’s private island – Castaway Cay – where the ambience was both private and open. We had good views of the beach and the ocean. We really enjoyed Castaway Cay as it was well organized and we especially appreciated the seclusion of the adult section of the Island. There was plenty of good food and fun for all. We met on board and also had clues and activities in Nassau. Disney’s Island definitely had something for everyone. The hardest thing we had to do was chose which beach and activity we would like to pursue, which included everything from water sports and swimming, to relaxing next to the pool or shopping, all of which was excellent.
