Holiday Caroling Cruise With Island Packers This December

Island Packers
invites visitors to come aboard their 64’ catamaran during the holiday season to enjoy the decorated boats and holiday lights. Family and friends are welcome for a one-hour harbor cruise in the marina and Ventura Keys.

The one-hour harbor cruise provides an opportunity for guests to enjoy singing holiday songs and to see the decorated marinas and boats. Passengers can sing along with the crew or just relax and have fun. It is suggested that passengers dress in layers with coat and gloves. Hot and cold beverages and items from the snack bar will be available for purchase. Boats depart at 6:30 p.m. and return approximately 7:30 p.m. the weekdays of December 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, 21 & 22.  The fare is $14 per adult, $11 per senior, and $8 per child. Group rates are available for 10 or more guests and private holiday parties are available at $760 per hour with a 1-½ hour minimum. Advanced, prepaid reservations can be made by calling at (805) 642-1393.

In addition to the harbor cruise, Island Packers is also offering a cruise during the annual Ventura Parade of Lights on Saturday, December 18. Because of limited parking after 6 p.m., visitors are encouraged to come early and enjoy the holiday festivities in Ventura Harbor Village prior to the cruise. The boat will depart at 6:30 p.m. and return by 8:45 p.m. Passengers will cruise the harbor to view the holiday lights and watch the lighted boat parade, which includes fireworks on the water at 8:30 p.m. A cash snack bar will be available. The fare is $30 for adults, $26 for seniors (55+) and $26 for children. Advanced reservations are recommended and it is suggested that passengers dress in layers.

Searching for great ideas for stocking stuffers this holiday? Island Packers also offers gift certificates for a half day whale watch or island wildlife cruise, day or camping trip to one of the five northern Channel Islands, adventure sail on the tall ship, Bill of Rights, or a harbor dinner cruise. The gift certificates can be mailed or picked up. Island Packer’s gift shop also offers a variety of warm fleece pullovers and vests, t shirts, hats, books and children’s clothing.

December 26 is the official date of the beginning of the gray whale migration. Island Packers offers half-day whale watch trips as well as all day trips with landing ashore for approximately four hours. “This is a great way to bring relatives and friends together for an outdoor activity,” stated Cherryl Connally, co-owner of Island Packers. Rates vary from $33 per adult for the half-day trip and up to $56 per adult for day trip to Santa Cruz Island.
