The Bornean Getaway: Post MEA Conference 2014 Tour

Sarawak Convention Bureau
(SCB) is excited to join the Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) Annual National Conference 2014, to be held 15-17 May 2014 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre; an event supported by Malaysia's national convention industry partner, the Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB).

In total, the event will see over 600 industry professionals comprising event management companies, professional conference organizers, associations and suppliers from all over Australasia such as Singapore, New Zealand and Australia.

"The bureau will be attending the conference - representing Sarawak, to tap into the tremendous value of networks that will be present. The conference stands as a great platform of opportunity for knowledge sharing, expanding business event prospects and building a closer connection with our alliances from the Australasian industry", stated Mr. Mike Cannon, managing director of SCB.

SCB has initiated the South Borneo Quest - Where Business and Adventure Meets in collaboration with MyCEB; a specially tailored post MEA tour to Kuching, Sarawak. The great factor about this program is the flexibility that caters to the buyers; offering 2 options to either take part in the 'Heart to Heart with Orang-utans' CSR program or for a kayaking adventure along the streams of head-hunter's village.

"We are proud and honored to offer buyers a proactive trip such as the South Borneo Quest - a 3-day 2-night opportunity to explore a heritage destination that has the old charm appeal to complement the corporate culture and adventure", Cannon explained further.

Buyers would need to apply to qualify and obtain their own flights to Kuching in order secure their place for this exclusive post tour. Spouses are also welcome to join for a small charge of RM 400 for the entire tour.

Sarawak is an upcoming second tier destination and a land of myth and legends, wild nature and rich culture that means business. Engaging in this program creates new opportunities and interactions for both business events and the tourism market - boosting the growth of the industry in Sarawak to greater heights.
