Regional Premiere Of "Turbo" Speeds Into The Venetian Macao


Venetian Theatre Hosts the Region’s First Screening
of Dreamworks Animation’s Newest 3-D Animated Film

Celebrities gathered at The Venetian® Macao recently for the regional premiere of DreamWorks Animation’s latest 3-D feature film, “Turbo” – a high-velocity comedy about an ordinary garden snail who dares to dream big – and fast. The exclusive event at the Venetian Theatre marked the region’s first-ever screening of the movie, where invited guests, media, members and families of the Automobile General Association Macao-China were given the opportunity to enjoy the entire film in a luxurious setting ahead of its July 18 official theatrical release in Hong Kong and Macao.

Guests in attendance at Saturday’s premiere included experienced Macao auto racers Jeronimo Badaraco, Leong Ian Veng, Chou Keng Kuan, Wong Wan Long and Ip Un Hou – among them winners of the 2013 AAMC Macau Touring Car Series and previous years’ Macau Grand Prix races; the legendary Harlem Globetrotters, in town for an exhibition game at the CotaiArena™ the same day; and celebrities FAMA (“Turbo” Cantonese dubbing talents), Jennifer Tse, Lelia Chow, Alice Chan, Ana R., Jacquelin Ch’ng, Ann Ho, Angie Ng, Ricky Fan, Charmaine Li and Lung Siu Kwan. Candy Lo, Nicola Cheung, Bonnie Lai, Skye Chan and Maggie Fu were present with their children as well.

Bringing the regional premiere of DreamWorks Animation’s latest feature to The Venetian Macao is part of the exciting DreamWorks Experience at Cotai Strip Resorts, recently launched as a result of an alliance between Sands China Ltd. and DreamWorks Animation.

Having hit Hong Kong and Macao theatres in 3-D July 18, DreamWorks Animation’s 27th feature film “Turbo” is a high-velocity 3-D comedy about an ordinary snail who dares to dream big – and fast. After a freak accident miraculously gives him the power of super-speed, Turbo kicks his dreaming into overdrive and embarks on an extraordinary journey to achieve the seemingly impossible: racing against famed driver Guy Gagne. With the help of Turbo's tricked-out streetwise snail crew, this ultimate underdog puts his heart and shell on the line to prove that no dream is too big, and no dreamer too small.

The all-star cast of famous voices behind the characters features Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Michael Peña, Luis Guzmán, Bill Hader, Richard Jenkins, Ken Jeong, Michelle Rodriguez, Maya Rudolph, Ben Schwartz, Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Lion), and Samuel L. Jackson.

The DreamWorks Experience at Cotai Strip Resorts offers visitors a host of DreamWorks-themed entertainment and activities featuring the well-known cast of animated characters from the hit films “Shrek,” “Madagascar,” “Kung Fu Panda” and “How to Train Your Dragon.” Highlights of the exclusive family-friendly attractions include a DreamWorks All Star Parade; a themed DreamWorks character meet and greet area; weekend poolside DreamWorks movie nights at both Sheraton Macao Hotel, Cotai Central and Holiday Inn Macao Cotai Central; as well as Shrekfast with the DreamWorks Gang! – a DreamWorks-themed buffet breakfast available with hotel packages at Sheraton Macao Hotel and Holiday Inn Macao Cotai Central.
