Richmond, BC Launches Meeting Planner Incentive Save $2011 in 2011

Richmond, British Columbia
is eager to roll out the welcome mat to host your next meeting. All meeting planners who book a meeting or convention in Richmond before December 31, 2011 are eligible to receive a credit of up to $2011* to be applied to the group master folio. Bookings must be for a minimum of 10 peak rooms (based on a two-night minimum stay) and be actualized by March 31, 2012.

Why Richmond? If you're tired of all the usual meeting spots, imagine your delegates getting active dragon boating, whale-watching, exploring National Historic Sites and Buddhist temples or even skydiving. Next they can unwind after a full day of meetings while sipping fruit wines on a winery tour, enjoying endless shopping options, and experiencing the city's flourishing Asian cultural scene and impressive group dining options as Richmond is the home of "the best Chinese food outside of China."

"As a former Venue City, the 2010 Olympic Winter Games put Richmond on the map as an exciting multicultural destination city that's fully equipped to host events large and small," says Gayle Morris, director of Sales at Tourism Richmond. "We've hosted the world, now we are committed to winning your business and making your next meeting one of a kind. Come to Richmond and discover why our hidden gem destination was chosen to be a Venue City during the 2010 Games."

Richmond has great delegate appeal with 145,000+ sq. ft. of combined meeting space in 26 brand-name hotels, conference facilities and multi-purpose venues. It's also where you'll find the iconic Richmond Olympic Oval and the Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Located next door to Vancouver, the Canada Line rapid transit system easily connects your delegates to Richmond from YVR in 10 minutes and downtown Vancouver in less than 25 minutes.

To be eligible for the up to $2011* credit, meeting and event planners must register their RFP at www.allinrichmond.com/meetings. Some conditions apply.  Tourism Richmond is your one stop shop for all meetings and events requirements, making it easy for you to meet in Richmond by providing site visits, bid coordination and attendance and agenda-building assistance.
