VISIT GREATER PALM SPRINGS ANNOUNCES NEW STAFF POSITIONS TO SUPPORT GOVERNMENT RELATIONS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES

Visit Greater Palm Springs  proudly announces the appointment of two new pivotal staff positions to support expanded government and industry relations activities as well as economic development initiatives.

Davis Meyer  has been promoted to Vice President of Government & Industry Relations. Meyer has been with the organization since 2017 and most recently held the title of Senior Director of Community Engagement. In addition to her current responsibilities for overall partner investment in marketing programs, education and events, Meyer will now oversee our new economic development responsibilities and government relations at the local, county, and state level.

Sean Smith has joined the organization as the Director of Economic Development, charged with driving strategy and implementation of business attraction and growth for the Greater Palm Springs area. Activities will focus on diversifying business sectors, attracting new businesses, and strategically marketing and branding the region as a premier location for economic growth and development.

These positions were added after Visit Greater Palm Springs JPA Executive Committee directed the staff to take a more active role in a regional approach to diversifying our local economy. In keeping with Visit Greater Palm Springs mission to promote our unique and diverse destination to the world while advancing regional collaboration to improve the quality of life for our residents, this strategy will build on the success the organization has had in promoting the region's tourism economy by expanding it to other areas of the economy.

"We're thrilled to expand our efforts in showcasing our region to new economic sectors and to advance fresh public and private investments in our community through robust collaboration with our local partners, amplifying our collective regional voice," said Scott White, President & CEO of Visit Greater Palm Springs. "By strategically engaging with government entities and fostering strong relationships with local businesses, we aim to unlock the full potential of Greater Palm Springs, ensuring sustained growth and prosperity for all who call this vibrant region home."
