Visitors to Fort Worth have a new website to discover tours, museums, experiences, hotels, restaurants, and historical sites that celebrate and honor Black history and culture. The platform -- a partnership between
Visit Fort Worth and
SEPI Travel -- will promote the city's Black-owned businesses, restaurants, and attractions through custom content such as blogs, itineraries, city guides and more.
SEPI features guides that focus on Black experiences in cities and offers tours both domestically and internationally that emphasize Black history and society. Fort Worth, New York City and Barbados are the first three destinations to participate in the launch of the platform.
Featured Fort Worth businesses and attractions will include: Smoke-a-Holics BBQ,
Union Station in Sundance Square,
Hustle Blendz,
Hotel Dryce and more. Visit Fort Worth's
Black Tourism Advisory Committee helped guide the development of this partnership.
"We are thrilled to partner with SEPI Travel," said Bob Jameson, president and CEO of Visit Fort Worth. "This initiative would not have been possible without input from the Visit Fort Worth Black tourism committee and our partners at
Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce."
Other key attractions and experiences on Fort Worth's SEPI Travel page include historic sites and cultural festivals such as Juneteenth celebrations,
MLK Day Parade, the traditions of
Black cowboys and the
Fort Worth Stockyards. It also features the city's vibrant art scene, where Black artists and performers showcase their talent at venues like
Bass Performance Hall,
Jubilee Theater and the
Fort Worth Community Arts Center.
"SEPI's mission is to illuminate and elevate the often-overlooked cultural vendors and experiences across this country," said Kevin Frazier, founder and CEO of SEPI Travel. "In Visit Fort Worth, we have found a perfect partner, and we are proud that they are our first SEPI City. Fort Worth has also leaned into the Black Cowboy experience and embraced that piece of hidden history. I am honored and excited to share what we have built together and for the world to visit this vibrant and diverse destination."
The Fort Worth section on the SEPI Travel website was launched in May 2024 and can be found here.
