As you consider Minneapolis for your upcoming meetings and events, we invite you to learn more about our Minneapolis Cultural Districts, seven vibrant communities where event attendees can experience a rich and welcoming atmosphere that celebrates the diverse neighborhoods in Minneapolis.
Minneapolis is committed to partnering with residents and business owners in these districts to create strategies that ensure long-term affordability for residents and that promotes ethical tourism.
The Cultural Districts in Minneapolis are West Broadway,
Central Avenue,
Cedar Avenue South,
Franklin Avenue East,
East Lake Street,
38th Street, and
Lowry Avenue North . Each Cultural District highlights the rich sense of cultural identity rooted in communities significantly populated by people of color, Indigenous people, and/or immigrants
The Cultural Districts were created in 2020 when the city of Minneapolis finalized the Minneapolis' 2040 Plan, a comprehensive document mapping the city's goals for the next two decades. This plan included the creation of the Minneapolis Cultural Districts and provides an opportunity to cement cultural districts in the city's future.
As the catalyst city for a nationwide movement, Meet Minneapolis stands in solidarity with leaders from all backgrounds in recognizing the need to transform from the inside out and showcase how Minneapolis is both a safe and equitable place for everyone to live, work and visit.
Meet Minneapolis is proud of our increasingly diverse communities that welcomes civic, economic and social engagement from its businesses, residents and visitors. We invite you and your event attendees to discover the Cultural Districts in Minneapolis.
