CENTER OF ATTENTION: LAS VEGAS

Las Vegas is always the place where business gets done. With the most hotel rooms and convention space in North America, it's basically a given. But this destination continues to evolve-and through those changes, it continues to enthrall, excite and inspire business travelers.

The destination is always changing, offering new places to see as well as global events to attend. Vegas offers meetings professionals a location that not only meets their needs but exceeds it. Here are some recent developments that will transform your meeting in Las Vegas.

RESORTS

With the most hotel rooms in the United States, Las Vegas has secured its position as the place to host your next meeting or event.

As mentioned in a previous issue, Durango Casino & Resort is now open and offers everything visitors love about Las Vegas-within 10 miles from the Strip with beautiful mountain and valley views. Its 20,000-square-foot convention and meeting space allows you to conduct business, while its food and beverage outlets are ideal for client meetings, presentations or company events.

Another resort offered recently is Fontainebleau Las Vegas , which has a sparkling new 550,000-square-foot Conference Center just steps away from the Las Vegas Convention Center's West Hall. The hotel also offers the fabulous mix of dining and entertainment you'd expect from a major Las Vegas property.

SPORTS

Las Vegas is the Sports and Entertainment Capital of the World, so it should come as no surprise that there are always marquee athletic events happening both on and off the Strip.

Following Super Bowl LVIII-the first Big Game to be held in the destination- Allegiant Stadium is set to host the kickoff for the Australian National Rugby League's Telstra Premiership in March. The double-header event features some of the country's most popular teams, playing the country's most popular sport.

Allegiant Stadium doesn't stop there! Before it begins to host the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders games again, another headlining event is headed to the venue that's just minutes away from the Strip. CONMEBOL Copa America is touching down there in late June and early July, hosting three matches. You can expect to see Jamaica face Uruguay, while Paraguay will play Brazil-with the winners emerging for the culminating quarterfinal match.

DINING

Las Vegas is a culinary capital, with celebrity chefs and iconic restaurants dotting the destination, which also offers the best neighborhood gems you'll ever encounter.

The restaurant business was chronicled in the feature film Chef-and in homage to the beloved film, Roy Choi and actor/producer Jon Favreau have launched The Chef Truck at Park MGM Las Vegas. The casual spot offers sandwiches and the service you can still stream on your TV. This interesting culinary-meets-entertainment experience is a fun addition to your team's itineraries.

Down the Strip you'll find Brasserie B by Bobby Flay at Caesars Palace . The Food Network phenom again brings a spectacular dining spot to the Las Vegas Strip and offers a group dining aspect perfect for a team during your upcoming meeting. The cuisine is French-meets-Flay, so be sure to order those frites-or, fries.

Should your group find itself in Las Vegas when Cantina Contramar at Fontainebleau Las Vegas opens, this restaurant is a must-book. Whether you're entertaining clients or awarding fabulous employees, this space from celebrated chef Gabriela Cámara offers her signature seafood dishes and comforting Mexico City-inspired fare.

ENTERTAINMENT

Beyond the fantastic meeting venues and the delectable eats at the destination's many revered restaurants, there's also an entire landscape of entertainment to explore!

R&B group New Edition has launched a residency at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas, bringing their signature style and chart-topping hits to the Strip for the first time.

Debuting this summer at The LINQ Hotel + Experience, Spiegelworld's DiscoShow combines everything you love about that genre and era in the creative group's signature style. If you've seen Absinthe, OPM or The Atomic Saloon Show, you know this is something you-and your team or clients-simply can't miss.

Don't forget that Mariah Carey has also recently announced a new Las Vegas residency, this time at Dolby Live at Park MGM Las Vegas . You and your attendees can see Mimi in all her glory at the intimate theater-where every seat has a great view of the stage.

Las Vegas never disappoints-whether it's for business or pleasure, a few days here is going to inspire and entertain like no other destination can. From the unparalleled hospitality at beautiful resorts to the diverse dining scene and a jam-packed entertainment calendar, you simply can't beat it.
