BY THOMAS BLANTON & DENNIS ROGERS, PHD

Attorney Derrick Johnson, National NAACP President provided clarification on the call for a "ban on travel to Florida." He stated that, " the ban is a call to action against racism and public policy on teaching Black History in Florida Schools and the AP exam." The target of the ban is Ron DeSantis and not Black business that benefit from tourism to the state Florida.

The official position of the National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners is a call for support of Black businesses that benefit from tourism in the state of Florida. In addition NCBMP calls for support of Black meeting professionals and support for African American hiring in management of Convention and Visitors Bureau's , hotels , and conference and convention centers.
