PUBLIC EVENTS ASSISTANT DIRECTOR ELECTED IAVM REGIONAL TREASURER

Andrea Wright , Assistant Director Fiscal & Administrative Services for the City of Fort Worth’s Public Events Department, has been elected Treasurer of the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) Region 6.

IAVM Region 6 represents 1,120 venue managers and professionals throughout Texas, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and the Country of Mexico.

“Andrea has a keen grasp of what our peers in venue management have been challenged with financially the past two years, and her creative ability to propose and execute solutions will serve our industry well,” said Mike Crum, director of Public Events.

The City’s Public Events Department oversees operations at Will Rogers Memorial Center, the Fort Worth Convention Center and the Office of Outdoor Events. In that role, Wright manages five operating funds totaling over $75 million, four capital project funds, and administrative, human resources and finance employees.

Andrea was elected to the Fort Worth Employees’ Retirement Fund in 2018, re-elected in 2020 and is the Chair of the Audit and Budget committee. She serves on the Nominating committees of both the National Forum of Black Public Administrators and the Fort Worth City Credit Union, and recently completed IAVM’s Venue Management School.

“I love to serve and learn from others,” Andrea said. “This opportunity allows me to give back to our peers in the events business as we continue to navigate post-pandemic territory together.”
