MOURNING THE LOSS OF INDUSTRY GIANT BILL WILLIAMS
The following statement was issued by Choose Chicago announcing the passing of industry icon Bill Williams. "We are deeply saddened by the loss of W. Bill Williams, a hospitality icon who spent 37 exceptional years on the Choose Chicago team. "Bill was one of a kind, and as VP of Diversity/Sales, was an early advocate for diversity in the sales market. "Bill earned the 2019 Destination International annual Hall of Fame Award in addition to numerous other honors throughout his luminous career. "He was a founding board member of the National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners and Chicago Chapter of the Society of Government Meeting Planners, and well known as the proprietor of the K & J Shoe Shine company. "The "King of Hospitality" made a lasting imprint on the industry and the city of Chicago, and we're grateful for his service and friendship. "
