FORT WORTH HOSTS 48TH SOUTHWEST REGIONAL CONFERENCE OF DELTA SIGMA THETA SORORITY, INC.

More than 2,700 women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. attended their 48th Southwest Regional Conference at the Fort Worth Convention Center August 10-14, returning to the Modern West city after 12 years.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, founded in 1913, is an international non-profit organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community.

The Blazing Southwest Region , founded in 1932, includes Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Jamaica and includes 142 alumnae and collegiate chapters.

"Thanks for showing our national and regional leadership what can happen when a city comes together to show how important you are to them," said Talemah Jones, 2022 Southwest Regional Conference coordinator. 

"On behalf of our Immediate Past Regional Director Michelle Brown, thanks for sending her out of office in her hometown in such grand style. Thanks for moving every roadblock and fixing every issue that we encountered as we planned our event.  We are excited about the partnerships we have been able to make with the Mayor's office, the  , the Fort Worth Black Chamber of Commerce, Southeast Fort Worth, Visit Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Convention Center and the Parks and Rec Department.  We look forward to partnering with you all again in the near future!"
