ROSEN HOTELS & RESORTS IN ORLANDO PROMOTES DOREA MAYS TO DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Dorea Mays, Director of Human Resources, Rosen Hotels & Resorts

Dorea Mays joined the 47-year-old Orlando hospitality company 20 years ago as Human Resources Manager, working under long-time Human Resources Director Jonni Kimberly. Dorea was later promoted to Associate Director of Human Resources. With Jonni's recent retirement after 41 years with Rosen Hotels & Resorts, Dorea assumes the director's position.

Mays also oversees and supports the company's leadership team at the Rosen Parramore Preschool and Rosen Tangelo Park Preschool. Both schools are important components of The Harris Rosen Foundation's charitable initiatives to support and transform underserved communities in Orlando.

Mays earned her bachelor's degree in organizational communication from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. In 2016, she earned her master's degree in human resources from Rollins College, Winter Park, Fla. She is a credentialed Human Resources professional and coach. These accreditations include SHRM's Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), HRCI's Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), iPEC's Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner (ELI-MP).

Mays has devoted countless hours to the Central Florida community while serving on the executive boards of the Hospitality Human Resources Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Central Florida Disability Chamber of Commerce, Orange County Public School's Compact Program and the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. She also has mentored youth and other professionals in her field.
