HYATT CENTRIC SOUTHPARK CHARLOTTE INTRODUCES LEADERSHIP TEAM
Fidencio Mata, Erin Dennis and Cristal Moncur Join the Team as General Manager, Director of Group Sales & Celebrations and Director of Corporate Sales

 

Hyatt Centric SouthPark Charlotte , which recently opened in June, is pleased to announce its leadership team. Fidencio Mata has been named General Manager, responsible for overseeing all hotel operations and staff training of the new, locally-inspired and modern hotel. Erin Dennis, CPCE (Certified Professional in Catering and Events), has joined the property as Director of Group Sales & Celebrations, where she is responsible for all marketing and coordination of wedding, social and non-profit groups and will oversee all celebratory events . Cristal Moncur has been appointed Director of Corporate Sales, where she willmanage the marketing efforts of all corporate accounts including group meetings and events.



Fedencio Mata

 

Fidencio Mata has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, all of which has been with Hyatt. Mata started his career with Hyatt in 1995, working at a range of Hyatt Regency hotels in locations including Washington D.C., New Mexico, Boston, San Antonio and Dallas, in addition to Park Hyatt Philadelphia. He started in the Rooms Division, and eventually worked his way up to hold various executive positions. Mata later went on to hold several Director of Rooms positions at hotels including Hyatt Regency Coral Gables, Grand Hyatt Atlanta, Hyatt Regency Miami and Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, with accomplishments that include being nominated by Hyatt for Rooms Director of the Year, increasing occupancy and rates to become a market leader in RevPar, driving top-line revenue and ranking in the top company percentile for employee satisfaction. Prior to joining Hyatt Centric SouthPark Charlotte, Mata held the title of Interim General Manager at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, TX, where he provided strategic and operational leadership during the suspension and re-opening of the resort, as well as leading the resort to achieve financial austerity during the COVID 19 pandemic. Mata also participated in the Hyatt mentorship and development program for several years.



Erin Dennis

 

Erin Dennis, CPCE, has more than 30 years of wide-ranging experience in the hospitality field, including positions at hotels, catering companies and event-planning businesses. She has worked for various hotel brands such as Radisson, Omni and Hilton as Director of Catering and Director of Sales. Dennis was an adjunct instructor at Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte, in the Hotel & Restaurant Management School for 18 years. A charter member of the 25-year-old Charlotte Chapter of NACE (National Association for Catering & Events), Dennis has held various committee and executive board positions, including President, and in 2020 she earned her CPCE designation. Visit Charlotte’s Partners in Tourism, The North Carolina Business Travelers Association, ILEA (International Live Events Association) and the Charlotte Area Chamber of Commerce also count Dennis as a member. Dennis’ continual dedication to the hospitality industry—and her passion for sharing her knowledge with both young people starting out in the industry and seasoned professionals—has been honored with multiple awards, among them the 2009 Spirit of NACE Mary Margaret Traxler Award and the 2018 CRVA Partners in Tourism Hospitality Professional of the Year Award.

Crystal Moncur

 

Cristal Moncur brings more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry to her role as Director of Corporate Sales at Hyatt Centric SouthPark Charlotte. Previously, she served as the opening Director of Sales for the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Davidson, North Carolina, where she spent the past 13 years developing her creative, outside-the-box skills and love for extraordinary service. Before joining Homewood Suites, Moncur held positions at Embassy Suites by Hilton, Residence Inn by Marriott and Sheraton properties. A prominent member of the Charlotte community, Moncur has a passion for and deep understanding of the hospitality industry and her work has been rewarded with multiple awards and achievements, including a Stellar Seller Award, Hilton’s Spirit Award and the highly coveted MVP status with the Homewood Suites brand.
