The 218-Room Property Brings a New Lifestyle Hotel to Buckhead
Hyatt Centric Buckhead Atlanta is scheduled to open this December along the edge of Lenox Square, the largest shopping center in the southeast, in Atlanta's affluent commercial and residential district of Buckhead. Guests and locals alike will delight in the 218-room hotel's playful interpretation of local culture paired with its historical heritage. The stylish boutique property will serve as a launchpad for exploration offering travelers the ideal respite for those seeking to discover the city's retail, entertainment and cultural treasures. Hyatt Centric Buckhead Atlanta will mark the entry of a fresh lifestyle hospitality experience in the Buckhead neighborhood.
Hyatt Centric Buckhead Atlanta's design by New York-based Sawyer & Company will be influenced by both Georgia's historical pottery heritage and Buckhead's more modern designation as a fashion destination. Stand-out design details will include the hotel's lobby with a residential-like lounge area, curated art and decorative elements paying homage to the location's history. The reception area will feature a floral stenciled wall, a light installation of woven pendant shades in the shape of pottery, stoneware decor adjacent to the front desk and an oversized accent wall made of terracotta.
The guestroom design will deeply reflect the artistic history of Georgia, with wallpaper that will mimic the appearance of crackled glazing on pottery and organic shape of earthenware. The Georgia clay landscape serves as inspiration for the rugs meanwhile the color scheme is influenced by the natural hues of clay. A nod to the city's modern fashion designation will be reflected in the stylish headboards, which will feature a chic chevron fabric pattern. The design features that meld the past with the present will continue throughout the property, including a mural in the rear of the building by Lenia Castro, artist and co-owner of
Buckhead Murals, which will showcase the growth and development of Atlanta and the state of Georgia, further seeking to encourage visitors to explore the destination.
"We are excited to begin welcoming guests to our property and serve as a launchpad for travelers to explore the best that Atlanta has to offer," said Kristi Cotten, general manager of Hyatt Centric Buckhead Atlanta. "From our 15
th-floor rooftop with panoramic views of the beautiful city skyline to our seven stunning suites, two restaurants led by an incredible James Beard Award-winning chef and design that pays homage to the artistic history of Georgia, our hotel will be full of personality and truly unlike any other in the neighborhood."
FOOD & BEVERAGE: MOUNT ROYAL & SPACEMAN
James Beard Award-winning chef and author Hugh Acheson, owner of Five & Ten and Empire State South, and Christopher Wilkins, owner of Root Baking Co. and Pizza Jeans, will bring elevated international fare to the Atlanta dining scene with their two forthcoming restaurants at Hyatt Centric Buckhead Atlanta. The restaurants will be led by chef Sam Herndon, former chef de cuisine at Empire State South and Staplehouse.
The main dining space connected to the lobby lounge will be Mount Royal, a Montreal-style steakhouse that will combine the culinary diversity of Quebec with local products from farmers and artisans in southeast Georgia. The welcoming restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and provide to-go service for contactless guestroom delivery. The second dining venue will be
Spaceman, an indoor-outdoor rooftop lounge located on the 15th floor. It will feature craft cocktails and a simple menu of artfully composed shareable dishes. The thoughtfully designed dining area will be comprised of interior seating flanked by two outdoor terraces complete with lounge seating, yard games, and stunning views of the Atlanta skyline.
MEETING & EVENT SPACE
The hotel's airy second floor meetings and events space will feature accent wall coverings and art pieces reflecting the pottery design concept. All spaces will have built-in wet bar areas and feature floor-to-ceiling windows and lounge seating. The 3,702 square feet of total meeting and social space includes a total of six distinct areas: three meeting rooms (Stoneware, Fuller's Earth and Kaolin), one large social space (Artisan, which is divisible), and one boardroom (Jugtown), each of which has a name paying homage to Georgia's 19th-century pottery industry.
Other hotel amenities will include signature accessories like a cozy, hooded bathrobe, exclusive Beekind® - high-end, socially conscious bath amenities, Drybar® - salon-quality hair dryer, bright and spacious fitness center with two Peloton bikes, an outdoor heated plunge pool with pool sun deck located on the 2nd floor rooftop, restaurant-to-go and contactless room service and complimentary Wi-Fi in guestrooms and public spaces.
