VISIT JACKSON TO OFFER FINANCIAL INCENTIVES TO MEETING PLANNERS
The fall is always a busy time in Jackson, Mississippi, and with safety guidelines in place, the capital city is open and quickly getting “back to business.” Providing a stress-free event from beginning to end has always been Visit Jackson’s main priority. Whether traveling by air, highway, or rail, getting to Jackson has never been easier. The capital city is centrally located within the state and easily drivable from several large cities, making it an ideal location for attendees. The Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport is a short 12- minute drive to downtown Jackson where you will also find the Greyhound bus station and the Amtrak station. An extensive array of meeting space is available, from full-service to boutique hotels, restaurants with private event space, and more than 330,000 sq. ft. of flexible exhibit, ballroom, and convention space at the Jackson Convention Complex. No matter the size of your event, Jackson has a venue that meets your needs. Visit Jackson has long been able to entice groups to the City With Soul with a lower tax rate, ample meeting and convention space, and an extensive complimentary services package. With the current challenges surrounding the hospitality industry, Visit Jackson has added financial incentives for meeting planners that book events before the end of 2020. Planners can hold the events anytime in the future, and 100% of the funds will be paid directly to the hotel or venue to help offset additional costs associated with COVID-19. Area restaurants, hotels, and attractions have made adjustments and are finding their groove. Jackson industry partners have added additional sanitizing procedures to ensure the health and safety of staff and guests, mastering the delicate balance of social distancing and excellent customer service. Jackson offers up award-winning culinary options for event catering, dine-in, patio dining, take-out, and delivery. With numerous indoor and outdoor events planned, Jackson offers ample activities during downtime. Jackson is home to 30 museums, including the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, which has recently extended its hours to include Sundays, allowing more time to accommodate additional groups. Numerous markers along the Mississippi Writer’s Trail, Blues Trail, and Freedom Trail are located in Jackson. These trails make for a perfect outdoor tour for you and your guests.
