EMBRATUR PROMOTES BRAZIL'S MICE SEGMENT AT IMEX AMERICA

Brazil Tourism and Partners Met With Hosted Buyers in Las Vegas During The Most Prominent Global Business Event in the USA

From October 10th to 12 th, in Las Vegas, Embratur (the Brazilian Tourism Board) and co-exhibitors presented Brazilian destinations at the annual IMEX America Show. The event provided Embratur and partners with an opportunity to showcase Brazil as a destination for events, with a focus on corporate and incentive travel.

Some of the Brazilian destinations promoted at the event for the MICE segment (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) included: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Florianopolis, Iguazu Falls, Porto Alegre, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Fortaleza  and Recife. “Among our priorities is strengthening the Brazilian government’s visa waiver for Americans and attracting more low-cost airlines to our country. This comes after a new law which recently passed in Brazil, allowing foreign capital investment in Brazil's airlines to go as high as 100%”, said Embratur’s President Gilson Machado Neto.

Sharing information about Brazil with travel planners and hosted buyers generated significant impact and strengthened the relationship with these professionals, who plan and organize events and incentive trips around the world. Around 4,000 qualified buyers participated in the three days of the show. These professionals were planning and booking everything from high-level incentives to huge association conventions as well as to make valuable new contacts, strengthen existing relationships, and seal critical business deals.

Due to its tourism potential, Brazil is considered the number one destination in the world when it comes to natural attractions, according to the World Economic Forum. Thus, Embratur’s goal is to double the number of tourist arrivals in four years. Brazil remains among the top 20 Countries that host the most international events in the world. The country ranks 17th with 233 events, according to the ranking by the International Association of Congresses and Conventions (ICCA).
