Julieanna Richardson Hosts HistoryMakers In Los Angeles

The HistoryMakers
founder and executive director, Julieanna Richardson, hosted a special dinner on Thursday, March 3 at the Four Season's Hotel in Los Angeles to honor local HistoryMakers and to thank them for sharing their stories, inspiring our youth, and making the organization's Back To School With The HistoryMakers program a success.  The event also afforded Richardson an opportunity to update local HistoryMakers on "our progress, our relationship with the Library of Congress, our educational initiatives , and our desire to build a larger presence in the Los Angeles area," she explained

Among the several dozen HistoryMakers in attendance were Larkin Arnold, Clarence Avant, Lee Bailey, H.B. Barnum, Ron Brewington, Solomon Herbert, Phyllis Tucker Vinson Jackson, T'Keyah Crystal Keymah, and Freda Payne, to name a few.

In a message to HistoryMakers who were able to attend, Richardson's special assistant Dionti Davis wrote "It was a wonderful evening, and we were so happy to have you with us on such short notice!  It was a pleasure for us to meet you in person, and to get to know you beyond your bio. We would love to follow up with you in order to discuss your ideas on how we should move forward in Los Angeles."

Richardson and her team are planning to host a special Salute to all of their current HistoryMakers in Los Angeles in the near future.  The Globe Theatre, located at Universal Studios Hollywood, is being considered for this large-scale, elegant event.
