"We are very excited to book conventions like the United Methodist 2020 General Conference, as these large meeting groups bring thousands of attendees to our destination, many for the first time," said Melvin Tennant, president and CEO, Meet Minneapolis. "Not only do they spend money in our hotels, restaurants and attractions, but they also return for subsequent visits and bring family members with them. This activity is key to our goal of increasing the number of visitors by 10 million to the Minneapolis Saint Paul area by 2017."
