Center For Civil And Human Rights Opens

Monday, June 23rd, 2014, marked a historic day for Atlanta! Nearly 1,000 people from the local, national and global community, were hosted on the Pemberton Park Plaza, for the long-awaited opening celebration of the
Center for Civil and Human Rights. The multi-generational celebration included remarks by The National Center for Civil and Human Rights, Inc. CEO,
Doug Shipman, former Atlanta Mayor and The National Center for Civil and Human Rights, Inc. board chair,
Shirley Franklin,
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed,
U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, and chair of the
Coca-Cola Foundation,
Lisa Borders. Following the celebration The Center officially opened to the public.
