Southern Californians Set To Discover The Palm Beaches With First-Ever Non-Stop Flight From Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Flight Kicks Off With Low, Round-Trip Rates on Most Non-Holiday Dates
Through February 2014

The Palm Beach County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is excited to welcome a new and important market of travelers from the West Coast with the announcement of the first-ever, non-stop, year-round daily flight from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) via American Airlines.

Great introductory round-trip airfares from December 2013 to February 2014 give potential visitors an option to arrive in South Florida at a significantly lower cost than if flying into other area airports during the same time period.  The new flight is estimated to bring 23,000 visitors and a total economic impact of $26 million each year.  The new service began on Nov. 21, 2013, with Flight AA 2366 departing daily from LAX at 12:05 a.m. and arriving at PBI at 7:55 a.m. Returning flight AA 2357 departs daily from PBI at 8:50 a.m. and arrives at LAX at 11:50 a.m.

American also launched a seasonal non-stop service between PBI and New York LaGuardia (LGA) on Nov. 21. All flights will be operated with American's Boeing 737 aircraft.

We are thrilled with the market expansion opportunities this new non-stop flight represents for The Palm Beaches," said Palm Beach County Convention and Visitors Bureau President and CEO Jorge Pesquera.  "Thanks to our partners at American Airlines and The Palm Beach International Airport, travelers from the largest metropolitan area in the country have easy, convenient way to visit our breathtaking collection of cities and towns along Florida's southeast coast. The Los Angeles Metroplex is an important leisure and meetings market that has yet to discover the diversity of experiences available in the 2,500 square miles from Boca Raton to Jupiter and from Palm Beach to Lake Okeechobee. We are looking forward to welcoming Californians to Palm Beach County - America's First Resort Destination."

"New non-stop service is always in high demand from our loyal passengers," said Bruce Pelly, director of Airports for Palm Beach County. "We would like to thank the Chambers, Business Development Board and local business communities for rallying behind us to show their support for this new service from American Airlines. We are thrilled to have additional service to our No. 1 destination, New York, and, for the first time, direct service to the West Coast into Los Angeles."

"American is excited to announce new service between Palm Beach International Airport and our Los Angeles and New York hubs," said Chuck Schubert, American's vice president - Network Planning. "This schedule is a great complement to our existing service between West Palm Beach and Chicago and Dallas/Fort Worth. It will give customers in the West Palm Beach area convenient access to Southern California and New York, and allow them to connect to additional destinations throughout the American Airlines and oneworld® global network."

For more than 100 years, The Palm Beaches, stretching along 47 miles of Florida's southeast coast, has offered visitors a breathtaking collection of sandy white beaches, easy access to the Everglades, a vast array of exquisite hotels and resorts, an extraordinary culinary scene, and an eclectic and colorful assembly of cultural and arts attractions, all served up with unparalleled, genuine hospitality.  Visitors can experience the perfect beach day, test their skills on world-renowned golf courses, or stroll one of 15 unique and stylish downtown districts, all within one, surprising and exciting destination.
