'Long Beach City Plus Pass' Debuts, Long Beach's First All-City Merchant And Consumer Discount Card

Guests Will Enjoy Discounts Throughout Long Beach at More Than 150 Restaurants, Shops, Hotel and Entertainment Hot Spots; Non-Profits to Benefit From Online Donations

CTC Destination and Meeting Management recently launched the new, all-city merchant and consumer card, "Long Beach City Plus Pass" with more than 150 merchants throughout Long Beach featuring up to 20 percent discounts such as 2-for-1 offers and a variety of other deals. The "Long Beach City Plus Pass" can be purchased for $30 at lbcpp.com. Simply select the "I want a LBCPP card!" tab to start saving.             Unlike neighborhood discount cards or online coupon services such as Groupon, LivingSocial or LA.Com Deals, "Long Beach City Plus Pass" serves four distinct audiences all with one goal, which is to support all of Long Beach when shopping and saving:

  • Residents realize immediate savings with the unlimited use card that costs only $30 annually. Buyers can opt to have $10 of their fee donated to a charity of their choice that's listed on the website.
  • Fundraising for participating non-profit organizations that accept direct contributions from guests or receive a $10 portion of the annual card fee when designated by the consumer at purchase.
  • Conference Attendees and Tourists may receive a LBCPP card in their registration packets, purchase on their conference website or while attending a show for $10 each; good for one month.
  • Merchants have the unique ability to reach more than 500,000 Long Beach area residents, more than five million visitors to Long Beach annually that create nearly $343 million in direct visitor expenditures and to help support a variety of non-profits.

"The goal with the 'Long Beach City Plus Pass' program is two-fold. It's primarily driven by the need to provide assistance to consumers and merchants alike who are currently feeling the downside of today's economic environment," said Michelle Manire, CEO at Long Beach City Plus Pass. "Most non-profits are also facing challenges in generating new funding. With our program, participants can also make a charitable contribution while enjoying their own financial relief."

The more than 150 "Long Beach City Plus Pass" merchants range from retail, entertainment, restaurants, tours, travel, events and services throughout the city including KDB (Kitchen, Den, Bar), Averyboo Arts, Auld Dubliner, Belmont Burger, Broadway Pizza, California Repertory Theatre, Caught in the Moment Photography, Gatsby Books, Gladstone's, It's a Grind Coffee, La Creperie Cafe on Pine, Laugh Factory, Long Beach Skate Co., Los Altos Car Wash, No Limits Sports and Fitness Academy, Outback Steakhouse, Queen Mary restaurants and shops, Shannon's on Pine, Signal Hill Florist, The Sky Room, True Beauty Wellness Spa, Umberto Fine Men's Clothing and Wine Down Lounge among many others. A complete list of merchants can be found at lbcpp.com and click on the "Where can I save?" tab.

"The LBCPP is a great benefit to Long Beach and its residents, businesses and visitors," said Joel Perler, vice president, Membership Development at the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. "It's one more example of how great our city is - it's diverse, fun, and so warm and welcoming. I am very excited about this program!"

Residents and conference attendees can identify a participating merchant by referring to the online list at lbcpp.com, looking for the "Long Beach City Plus Pass" static window sticker on site, scan the QR Code on the LBCPP card with a smartphone or call toll-free at (800) 829-6999. "Leadership Long Beach is excited to offer its 1,000-plus alumni members, friends and partners the 'Long Beach City Plus Pass' program," said Jeff Williams, executive director at Leadership Long Beach. "Where can you get 20 percent discounts and special offers like this anywhere else? We truly believe in this long lasting program that supports our community and surrounding businesses for years to come!"
