In a positive sign for Caribbean meetings revenue, Grand Lucayan, Bahamas reports an increase in conference room-nights booked for 2013 versus the same period in 2012. High-season conference events reached a peak at the resort Feb. 10, when Grand Lucayan welcomed a four-day conference with more than 1,000 participants, led by Italian telecommunications leader 3 Italia. With 90,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor meetings space, including one of the largest indoor ballroom facilities in the Caribbean, Grand Lucayan is uniquely positioned to host cost-effective and impactful meetings such as the 3 Italia conference.

Grand Lucayan General Manager Ben Davis commented, “Our seamless handling of an international telecommunications conference such as the 3 Italia event, which comprised more than 4,000 room-nights, is a great indication of what Grand Lucayan, and Grand Bahama Island itself, is capable of. We’re confident that with our renovated facilities and professional team, we’ll be seeing more and more conferences of such scale.”
