ACVB Partners With Kim Myles For Meeting Planner Workshop
The Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau and HGTV Design Star winner, Kim Myles recently partnered together for a solution-oriented and budget-friendly meeting planner workshop. Myles’ workshop was a part of a meeting planner familiarization tour hosted by the ACVB. Guests were invited to spend several days exploring Atlanta’s meetings and events capabilities. This is the first time that Kim Myles has partnered with a CVB to bring a design workshop to meeting planners. Working with decreased budgets and higher expectations, planners are faced with various roadblocks on the way to a successful meeting. Myles designed the two-hour workshop around these issues, providing cost-effective and creative solutions. “It’s so tough because budgets have been cut right and left and meeting planners struggle to have impact without going bankrupt,” said Myles. Bringing attention back to the basics, Myles focused on solutions for limited budgets to produce unique events that showcase creativity. She broke down the importance of floors and walls, the value of a splash of color and creating new décor out of recycled materials. Meeting planners received one continuing education credit for their CMP for attending the workshop. “The thing that I love about ACVB is that they have your back, they hit the ground running and are here to connect the dots for you,” said Myles. “ACVB has the answers, the connections, the relationships, they know everything you want to know and they are going to package it for you in a way that is completely easy to digest.
