The Corporate Tourism Event "Cancun Travel Mart, Mexico Summit 2011”
Finishes Successfully


Already in its 24th edition, the annual Cancun Travel Mart Summit took place at the Cancun Convention Center from October 12th – 14th. The Cancun Travel Mart, sponsored by the Cancun Hotel Association, brought together Tour Operators and members of the hotel and tourism industry along with local and international media to meet, interact, and discuss the newest events in the world of travel and tourism. The event included tourism destinations from all of Mexico, especially the Mexican Caribbean region.

This year's event welcomed participants from over 20 countries and was heralded as another success for this important travel industry event. According to Rodrigo de la Peña, president of the Cancun Hotel Association, "Cancun Travel Mart is a very important event, not only for the Mexican Caribbean but also for our country as a whole. Once again, Travel Mart exceeded our expectations; we are very pleased with the turnout and hope it helps participants in their future business.”

Cancun Travel Mart counted with the participation of the main tour operators and wholesale tourism agencies from Argentina, Bulgaria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, England, Francia, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Russia, and the United States of America; and the service providers from all destinations of Quintana Roo, Oaxaca, Mexico City.

The official opening ceremony was chaired by (Pictured Left to Right) Eugene Rybicky, from the Mexican Association of Travel Agencies in Quintana Roo; Eduardo Muñiz, Fonatur director; Juan Carlos Gonzalez, secretary of Tourism; Rodrigo de la Peña, president of the Cancun Hotel Association; Roberto Borge, governor of the State if Quintana Roo; Eligio Serna, director of Partner Relations for the Mexico Tourism Board; Jesus Almaguer, CEO of Cancun Tourism Board; Paul Michel Carrillo, deputy president of the Tourism Commission.
