The Corporate Tourism Event "Cancun Travel Mart, Mexico Summit 2011” Finishes Successfully Already in its 24th edition, the annual Cancun Travel Mart Summit took place at the Cancun Convention Center from October 12th – 14th. The Cancun Travel Mart, sponsored by the Cancun Hotel Association, brought together Tour Operators and members of the hotel and tourism industry along with local and international media to meet, interact, and discuss the newest events in the world of travel and tourism. The event included tourism destinations from all of Mexico, especially the Mexican Caribbean region. This year's event welcomed participants from over 20 countries and was heralded as another success for this important travel industry event. According to Rodrigo de la Peña, president of the Cancun Hotel Association, "Cancun Travel Mart is a very important event, not only for the Mexican Caribbean but also for our country as a whole. Once again, Travel Mart exceeded our expectations; we are very pleased with the turnout and hope it helps participants in their future business.” The report of the results at the event's end is as follows: Purchasing appointments, site Delegates 285 Service Provider Delegates 365 Total Delegates 650 Business Meetings Held 3,700 approx* Not included business inspections and fam trips at the hotels.
