Applications Available For Hospitality Scholarships From CRDA And Greater Atlantic City Concierge Association

The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority's CRDA/ACCVA Foundation and the Greater Atlantic City Concierge Association (GACCA) are now taking applications for hospitality scholarships to be awarded in May 2015.

Applications are available at http://accvafoundation.org/foundation-programs/scholarship-programs/application.  Deadline for applications is March 6, 2015.

Scholarships will be awarded to students from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, Atlantic Cape Community College and Fairleigh Dickinson University.  The program acknowledges and rewards academically successful students who have chosen a field of study related to the hospitality and tourism industry.

A volunteer committee of members made up of the Greater Atlantic City Concierge Association and the CRDA/ACCVA Foundation will use a point system to select students within a hospitality curriculum who excel academically and have demonstrated an ability to reach out to others through personal initiatives.

The awards will be publicly announced during the annual Host Awards banquet on Wednesday, May 6, 2015.  Visit http://accvafoundation.org/foundation-programs/host-awards for details.

According to Larry Sieg, CRDA's director of marketing, "The mission of the GACCA dovetails with the CRDA/ACCVA Foundation's mission of supporting the area's hospitality industry and promoting tourism education. This is a great way to help create a prepared workforce."

"Atlantic City provides a great visitor experience.  As the city redevelops, this program will help students gain the knowledge and skills they need to meet the new demands of the city's hotels and attractions, and serve the industry with distinction," said Hospitality Scholarship Committee Chairperson Doreen Prinzo.

The scholarships are supported chiefly through an annual Wine Tasting Art Show, scheduled this year for Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Noyes Arts Garage on Fairmount and Mississippi Avenues in Atlantic City.  Visit http://accvafoundation.org/foundation-programs/scholarship-programs/art-show for details and ticket information for the event.

The hospitality scholarships are also supported through private donations.  Prospective donors should contact Doreen Prinzo at (609) 449-7156 or dprinzo@accva.com.
