Harrah's Metropolis And Caesars Foundation Grant $15,000 To Local Mission

The Caesars Foundation Recently Presented a $15,000 Donation to
Guardian Family Services in Metropolis, Illinois

Guardian Family Services (GSF) is a steadfast advocate of families in crisis in our region since its inception in 2000. Since that time, victims of domestic violence have been given the opportunity to regain their dignity and self worth in order to facilitate a better future for themselves and their families. These funds will assist in the staggering financial needs of providing daily essentials, such as housing, food, diapers, paper goods, cleaning supplies, personal care items, and clothes.

“We cannot express how important the Caesars Foundation and Harrah’s Metropolis is to our agency, and we are so grateful for all that they have done for us since the beginning,” said Rita Gower, program director of Guardian Family Services. “GSF continues to be honored as a recipient of the grant funds from the Caesars Foundation. With the recent cuts in the state budget and the loss of city funding, Caesars Foundation has come through once again to help us continue to provide services to victims of domestic violence and their children by providing a safe haven when they flee violent homes.”

“Guardian Family Services embodies everything that we want to support in our community.” said Mark Osterhaus, general manager of Harrah’s Metropolis and senior vice president. “Positive growth, sustainability and advocacy are all pillars of GSF devotion to eradicating domestic violence. Organizations such as GSF have been our neighbors and steadfast supporters in our community. In times of need it is our duty to continue to support their causes by living our Code of Commitment each day through donations and volunteerism. We are thrilled to see these funds go to such an important service for our area. ”
