Tampa Convention Center Celebrates 25 Year Anniversary

Hosting more than 300 events each year, the Tampa Convention Center (TCC) has welcomed groups of all sizes for all occasions. From wedding receptions, corporate conferences and cheerleading competitions to the 2012 Republication National Convention, annual Boat Show and MetroCon and ComicCon events, TCC has been an integral part of the area's booming convention and special event industry.

Built in 1990 for $140 million, the site was originally the American outpost on Tampa Bay, established in 1824. Today, the facility boasts 600,000 sq. ft. of space, including a 200,000-sq. ft. exhibit hall, a ballroom that can accommodate more than 2,000 guests and 36 meeting rooms for breakout functions. Over the past 25 years, TCC's exceptional service and resort-like amenities have won the center countless awards and special recognitions.

  • Tampa Convention Center and its clients donate over $20,000 annually in school supplies to Teaching Tools for Hillsborough Schools.
  • The Tampa Convention Center's Food & Beverage department donates over 6,000 pounds of food to Metropolitan Ministries annually.
  • Through their Efficiency efforts Tampa Convention Center has saved over $65,000 annually in electric expenses.
