New Convention Center Aims To Bring Large-Scale International Meetings And Events To Los Cabos

The Los Cabos Convention & Visitors Bureau recently announced the grand opening of the Los Cabos Convention Center. The facility offers 72,000 sq. ft. of functional space and capacity to accommodate up to 5,000 people for meetings and 3,000 individuals for banquets. Most recently, the Los Cabos Convention Center hosted the world's leaders during the G20 Summit in June 2012 and will play host to the first annual Baja International Film Festival this coming fall.

The convention center represents a $100,000,000 investment by the federal government and a $1,500,000 investment from the State of Baja California Sur, as well as an endowment of 15-acres by the municipality of Los Cabos. It includes a spacious lobby, three exhibition areas, seven exhibit halls, business center, mezzanine, service area, loading area, 567 parking spaces and outdoor garden areas.
Equipped with solar panels and environmental technology, the Los Cabos Convention Center was designed with energy efficiency and sustainability in mind and has been designated as a "green" facility. It has the largest green wall in the world, which serves as insulator and prevents the building from overheating in the warm summer months.

"We are thrilled that the destination of Los Cabos is now home to a state-of-the-art convention center," said Alberto Coppola, president of the Los Cabos Hotel Association. "The new center, in combination with our current roster of award-winning hotels, will help Los Cabos become Mexico's leading destination for large meetings and conventions."

The Los Cabos Convention Center is conveniently located 10 minutes away from Los Cabos International Airport and 5 minutes away from the major tourism zone and hotels. For more information, please visit www.loscaboscc.com.
