Augusta Expands Conference Center With Trade, Exhibit And Event Space

The Augusta Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB)
is currently booking events for the new Trade, Exhibit and Event (TEE) Center opening in late 2012. The TEE Center is being built on property connected to the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center. With 38,000 sq. ft. of new meeting space, the TEE Center significantly increases the center's capacity and functionality to over 100,000 square feet.

"We are now able to bring in larger groups with big trade shows, and support meeting planners with our personalized service," said Peggy Seigler, the Augusta Convention and Visitors Bureau's vice president of sales and marketing. "The TEE Center's riverfront location will be a strong draw for attendees, who can easily walk to and enjoy the scenic Savannah River, downtown shops, unique restaurants and Artists Row."

The TEE Center is designed to convey a light, open feel. One of the unique features of the TEE Center is the absence of columns, which makes the space adaptable for a wide variety of floor layouts and event plans. Foot traffic can be routed and exhibits situated in multiple configurations. Rustic brick and exposed wooden beams will give it the look of a cosmopolitan loft. Floor-to-ceiling glass panels will allow natural light into the center, with doors to provide continuous outdoor space.

The TEE Center is conveniently located in Augusta, GA, approximately 150 miles east of Atlanta, and is easily accessible to most of the Southeast via its prime location on Interstate 20. The Savannah River serves as the state line and separates Augusta from North Augusta, SC. Founded as a trading outpost during the British colonial period, Augusta is the second oldest and second largest city in Georgia and today stands as a center for medicine, the military, and manufacturing. The city boasts 6,000 hotel rooms and 300 restaurants with the Augusta CVB as a single point of contact for planning turnkey meetings and events.

For more information, call (800) 726-0243 to speak with Seigler. The TEE Center is set to open in late 2012.
