SMG, the worldwide leader in convention and entertainment management, is proud to announce that the
Lynnwood Public Facilities District (LPFD) has extended the management contract of SMG to continue managing the
Lynnwood Convention Center for an additional five years. The new agreement also calls an additional five-year renewal option after the initial term. “We have an outstanding team here in Lynnwood, and we are all so very proud to continue to manage the Lynnwood Convention Center,” said
Kelvin D. Moore, CMP, SMG general manager of the Center. “We will continue to be forward thinking, customer focused and diligent fiscal stewards on behalf of the LPFD and the City of Lynnwood,” Moore added.
“The faith shown by the Lynnwood Public Facilities District in SMG's ability to continue to meet and exceed expectations is very gratifying, and is testament to the strong team we have built in Lynnwood,” said
Bob McClintock, SMG senior vice president for Convention Centers. SMG
Regional General Manager Allyson Jackson added, "We are pleased to be a part of the overall success of Lynnwood’s hospitality industry. The Convention Center has proven to be a real winner for the community, which is a tribute to our strong management team there and great partnerships with local and regional hospitality partners."
As SMG has managed the Center since it’s opening in 2005, the Lynnwood Public Facilities District noted their proven track record as the main reason for the contract extension. “Under SMG’s management, the Lynnwood Convention Center has become the premier meeting facility in the Pacific Northwest. The Board is proud and pleased to continue our relationship with SMG,” said
Mike Echelbarger, chairman of the LPFD Board of Directors.
Grant Dull, executive director of the LPFD added, “SMG has put a great team in Lynnwood. Their marketing acumen, customer service and sound financial management will continue to serve the LPFD well in the years to come.” The Lynnwood Public Facilities District owns the Lynnwood Convention Center.
