The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre has taken out two prestigious awards in this year’s Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) Awards for Excellence.

The Centre has won the EEAA’s Best Green Initiative category for the third consecutive year, as well as the Best Venue Team Award, in acknowledgement of the professionalism of its exhibition team. Centre Chief Executive Ton van Amerongen said he was delighted with the two accolades. “As Australia’s busiest events venue, we strive to be the industry leader across all areas, from our event management through to our environmental policies and our customer service.

“These awards are a fantastic recognition of the professionalism and passion that drives the Centre’s team,” van Amerongen said. The awards, announced recently at a gala dinner in Melbourne, are based on written submissions judged by a panel of industry professionals. The Centre’s Best Venue Team Award recognizes the accessibility, responsiveness and creativity of the venue’s exhibition account management teams and event service managers.

Meanwhile, the Best Green Initiative acknowledges the Centre’s work in developing sustainable initiatives for the exhibition industry, as highlighted in case studies from the Reed Gift Fair Sydney, Organics Expo and APRA Song Summit.
