DMAI Confirms Dates For 2013 Destinations Showcase Conference & Expos And Hosted Buyers Program


Complimentary Admission in Washington, DC and Chicago; Largest Events to Exclusively Bring Meeting Professionals Together With Destination Experts from Across
North America and Beyond


Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) recently announced the 2013 dates for their annual Destinations Showcase Conference & Expo series:
  • DMAI’s Destinations Showcase Washington, D.C. will take place on Thursday, March 14, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center; and
  • DMAI’s Destinations Showcase Chicago is scheduled for Wednesday, May 8, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill.


Admission is free to qualified meeting professionals who pre-register atwww.destinationsshowcase.com. Both events feature morning breakout sessions, a keynote luncheon, and an afternoon expo comprised exclusively of official destination marketing organizations (DMOs) from across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and beyond.

In addition, out-of-town meeting professional may apply for the fifth annual Destinations Showcase Hosted Buyer Program at either event, which provides selected participants with complimentary admission, hotel accommodations, travel reimbursement, and special face-to-face appointments with sponsoring DMOs.



Exhibit and Sponsorship Opportunities
Karen Williams, a leader in the hospitality industry for more than 32 years, has been hired as a consultant to manage exhibit and sponsorship sales for both events, as well as hosted buyer recruitment. Williams is co-founder of Inspired, based in Louisville, Ky. She recently served as executive vice president of the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau and previously worked as director of corporate sales for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. She is a member of several industry organizations and has served on boards of Leadership Louisville, Meeting Professionals International, DMAI, APEX Commissioner with the Convention Industry Council, and is a past chair of the Destination & Travel Foundation.
