Innovative Events In The Digital Age At The Tannery Event Centre

Aside from audio systems and controllable lighting, the hospitality and event industry has not seen many technological innovations in recent years. The Tannery Event Centre located in Kitchener, however, is transforming the industry by bringing in innovative technology solutions not seen at the typical event venue. Located in the technology hub of Kitchener’s Tannery District, The Tannery Event Centre, is home to technology giants including Google, Communitech and Desire 2 Learn. Previously an industrial hide tanning building, this high-tech facility has been completely renovated and is ready to impress with its innovative offerings.

“The first thing that everyone notices is the massive projection screen that lines three of the walls,” said Mark Bingeman, president of Bingemans. “The projection screen encompasses three quarters of the room, allowing for one of a kind presentation options or simply providing a backdrop for social events.”

To go along with the impressive 100’ by 10’ projection screen, the Centre has a state-of-the-art Christie Digital System that allows for standard projection, multi-layered, simultaneous projection and 3D projection. “The Waterloo Region is quickly becoming the tech haven of Canada and our Tannery Event Centre is equipped to provide the next level in event services that many people are looking for today,” said Bingeman. “Whether it’s for a corporate party, a wedding reception or an international stock holder meeting, our Centre is capable of almost anything.”

Another feature that puts the Tannery above others and allows for an even wider audience is the built-in web camera broadcasting capabilities. This advanced camera system allows event planners to broadcast their event around the globe through the use of these inconspicuously mounted cameras. The Centre is a unique partnership between Bingemans and Communitech to provide both a cutting edge event venue for the event industry as well as providing meeting planners with the most functional tech based meeting amenities available.

“With the Waterloo Region being the center of tech innovation, this blending of the highest level of technology products with meeting and hospitality uses is a natural fit and a sign of only more things to come,” said Iain Klugman, president and CEO of Communitech.

“The collaboration with the Canadian Digital Media Network and Bingemans in the Tannery Event Centre space is an example of how the most current technology products can not only be an accelerator in the technology fields, but can also be transformed in to the hospitality industry as well, providing an unlimited amount of creative possibilities for meetings and events,” said Kevin Tuer, vice president of the Canadian Digital Media Network/Communitech.

Located in the heart of the growing downtown core of Kitchener, the Tannery District is one block from the new University of Waterloo schools of pharmacy and medicine and across the street from the newly renovated Kitchener Downtown Community Health Centre building. “For corporate events the Tannery is easily the most professional and advanced choice in the region. For businesses looking for an out of town option for meetings or events, the Centre provides a new, out of the box environment that exceeds the constantly changing needs of the hospitality industry,” said Bingeman.
