The Greenbrier, the historic American resort in the picturesque foothills of West Virginia's Allegheny Mountains, has partnered with the Walls Fine Art Gallery to present its first-ever Greenbrier Fine Art Week, from November 4-10, 2013.

The Greenbrier Fine Art Week will gather a select group of fine artists from around the country to paint and record the beauty of The Greenbrier's area landscape, including its mountains, valleys, towns and rivers.  Featured artists will include Perry Austin (Alabama), Kenn Backhaus (Wisconsin), Roger Dale Brown (Tennessee), Michael Graves (Massachusetts), Stapleton Kearns (New Hampshire), Barbara Lussier (Connecticut), Charles Movalli (Massachusetts), T.M. Nicholas (Massachusetts), Stefan Pastuhov (Maine), John Poon (Utah), Dale Ratcliff (Massachusetts), Randall Sexton (California) and Steve Songer (Utah).  Each artist will bring three completed paintings, which will be displayed throughout the week in The Greenbrier's Cameo Ballroom.  The week will include free daily art events, including afternoon painting on the resort's grounds, a "Meet the Artists" event, a lecture on John Singer Sargent, and a panel Q&A with the featured artists.

"Considering the world-class art collection housed within the walls of our historic resort, which includes some priceless works of colonial American painting and antiques, it makes perfect sense for The Greenbrier to host its own dedicated Fine Art Week," says Jim Justice, owner of The Greenbrier.  "And we're thrilled to welcome this talented collection of artists from around the country to share their own works with our discerning guests."

The marquee event of the week will be the First Look! party on Friday, November 8, from 5:30 - 7pm, where about 50 new paintings will be unveiled and available for purchase for the first time.  There will also be a raffle, in which one First Look! ticketholder will win a painting.  Tickets for the First Look! party are available for purchase by calling (855) 787-8105; admission to all other Greenbrier Fine Art Week events will be complimentary.
