Recognize Dogwood Festival

Each year, the 100,000+ who attend the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival can attest to the wealth of entertainment the festival provides: a street fair, concerts from major performers, carnival, arts & crafts and more. This fall, two industry organizations paid tribute to the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival with several major awards.

At the 56th Annual Convention in October in Fort Worth, TX The International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) awarded the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival a Gold awards for Best Social Media Site and Best Promotional Brochure. Additionally, IFEA recognized the festival with a Gold Grand Pinnacle Award for the “Event of the Year.”

A month later, at the Southeast Tourism Society’s fall meeting in New Orleans, the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival received a Shining Example award as the Top 20 Event/Festival of the Year. “Bringing home these awards solidifies the hard work and efforts many contribute to make Fayetteville shine brightly,” says Carrie King, executive director of The Fayetteville Dogwood Festival.

Make your plans now to experience the 2012 Fayetteville Dogwood Festival for yourself. The festival runs from April 27-29 in Fayetteville. “Experience our History, Heroes and a Hometown Feeling while taking in the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival” says John Meroski, CEO of the Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We invite all to visit the festival and spend time exploring our community.” Plan your visit to greater Fayetteville at www.VisitFayettevilleNC.com.
