Shangri-La Hotel, Qufu Launches Meetings Package "A Cultural Journey In The Home Town Of Confucious"

Shangri-La Hotel, Qufu
has launched a meetings package designed to offer an in-depth exploration of Confucius heritage.   The Confucius Business Forum Package, for managerial executives, incorporates guided tours of Confucian sites and a lecture by a professional scholar from the Confucius Research Institute.  The lecture covers the implementation of Confucian philosophies, such as rightness, propriety, wisdom and trustworthiness, into business operations.

In addition to the lecture, the two-night stay includes:

  • Pick up and drop off at the Qufu East Station (Jinghu high-speed railway),
  • An evening cocktail reception,
  • International buffet breakfast at CafĂ© Kong, set lunches and a Kong family cuisine dinner.
  • Guided tours to The Three Kongs (Temple of Confucius, Confucius Mansion and The Cemetery of Confucius), the door opening ceremony, Nishan Mountain and the Confucius birth cave.

About the Three Kongs

The Temple of Confucius was once the residence of Confucius, and as one of the three largest ancient architectural complexes in China, it boasts an array of cultural relics, including 2,100 pieces of steles, fine calligraphy and stone sculptures. East to the Temple of Confucius stands the Confucius Family Mansion, home to the first son and first grandson of Confucius. Spanning 39 acres, the mansion houses 463 buildings, including halls, pavilions and towers and showcases luxurious furnishings, exquisite decorations and precious cultural relics. The Cemetery of Confucius houses the graveyard of Confucius and his descendants. Believed to have existed for over 2,340 years, the cemetery has expanded from 6.67 hectares to over 200 hectare and encloses more than 10,000 tombs and more than 42,000 trees. Also within the cemetery are stone structures and steles inscribed with writings of notable individuals.

About Nishan Mountain

The Nishan Mountain is 30 kilometers southeast of Qufu Prefecture, flanked by the calm Yihe River and lush green forest. A number of Confucius sites are located on the mountain, largely due to the belief that the philosopher himself was born in the Fuzi Cave on the Nishan Mountain. The mountain also includes eight scenic spots: Nishan Confucius Temple, Wulao Peak, Zhiyuan Stream, Kunling Cave, Guanchuan Pavilion, Zhonghe Ravine and Baiyun Cave.

About Kong Family Cuisine

Kong Family Cuisine is a combination of Shandong regional Lu methods and Su cuisine from the south of China, prepared with unsparing attention to the ingredients, appearance, taste and shape, and the dish names allude to auspicious meaning.  Influenced by the imperial Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1912) dynasties, Kong Family Cuisine centers around elaborate banquets, royal commemorations and religious ceremonies. It features dishes such as The Kirin Imperial Book, fried marinated sea bream, and Wisdom Frees Perplexity, braised pork ribs stuffed with spring onion stalk.

This offer is priced at RMB 2,800 (approx. US$461.50) net per person for single occupancy and RMB 2,100 (approx. US$346.12) net for double occupancy.  A minimum of 15 delegates is required.
