NAAAS To Host Conference In South Africa


The National Association of African American Studies & Affiliates will host a joint conference and vacation program in Durban, South Africa July 28 - August 6, 2017. This event is open to all persons interested in an educationally rich adventure to South Africa and all the resources available that will make the trip a life long learning experience.

Included in the trip are a visit to Ushaka Park, Durban Aquarium, tour of Kwazulu-Natal University, a visit to the Phoenix Settlement - home of Mahatma Gandhi, meeting with Ela Gandhi (granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi), dinner a Moyo's fine restaurant, Museum of Natural History, Juma Mosque, Victoria Street Market, Botanical Garden, tour of Indian district and street market, a Hindu Temple, A FULL-DAY SAFARI, time for the beach and much, much more!

The travel packet also includes round trip air travel from a selected U.S. hub, eight-day accommodations at a five-star hotel, daily breakfast, lunch on four days, four dinner meals, local transportation, travel packet and materials. The cost for this wonderful experience is $4,980. HOWEVER, the national organization will award a $500 travel certificate to the first 80 persons who register for the South African program.
