Over The Edge Event Comes To Sacramento

The Brain Injury Association of California is Taking Fundraising to New Heights

On March 18, 2016, 76 brave rappellers scaled down the side of the 16 story high-rise in Sacramento, California, to help raise awareness of brain injury during Brain Injury Awareness, Treatment & Prevention Month.   These daring individuals wanted to raise a minimum of $1,500 to support the work of the Brain Injury Association of California and earn 1 of 76 slots to rappel 16 stories down the side of the Residence Inn by Marriott Sacramento Downtown at Capitol Park

Over The Edge For Brain Injury was the first of three major events held in Sacramento from March 17-20, 2016 sponsored by the Brain Injury Association of California.  Other events included a Concussion Symposium and the 9th Annual Walk For Brain Injury.

More than 2.5 million people in the United States sustain traumatic brain injuries (TBI) in the U.S. each year, and 1 million more experience strokes and other acquired brain injuries. At least 5.3 million Americans live with TBI-related disabilities at a cost of more than $76 billion each year. Brain injury is the #1 cause of death and disability and The Brain Injury Association of California will raise the level of awareness in California by going Over The Edge For Brain Injury
