International Multicultural & Heritage Tourism Summit & Trade Show On Track For July 18-20


The first International Multicultural & Heritage Summit & Trade Show will unfold in Miami at the Miami Marriott Bicayne Bay Hotel July 18-20.  Sponsored by the National Association of Hotel Owners, Operators & Developers (NABHOOD), International Multicultural & Heritage Tourism Network (IMFITN), Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, Black Meetings & Tourism Magazine and Horizons International Group, Inc. The theme is "Business of Multicultural & Heritage Tourism".

In addition to information-packed workshops and general sessions, Black Meetings & Tourism will present their annual Apex Awards for Distinguished Service at the Saturday night gala, which will also celebrate their 20 th year of publishing.  In all 13 industry movers and shakers will receive Apex Awards, including Arnold W. Donald, president and CEO of Carnival Corporation & plc, Hon. Obediah Hercules Wilchcombe, MP, minister of Tourism for The Bahamas, Linda Weatherspoon Haithcox, executive director of the National Policy Alliance, Ernest (Ernie) Wooden, Jr., president/CEO of the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, and Professor H. T. Smith, who played a major roll in negotiating a win-win resolution to the 1990 boycott of Miami sparked by the snubbing of Nelson Mandela.

The Multicultural Tourism Summit will be preceded at the same venue by the 18th Annual International African American Hotel Ownership & Investment Summit & Trade Show, July 16-19.
