The Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau
(GHCVB) announced recently that it has been awarded accreditation from the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP). "The Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau is honored to have earned the Destination Marketing Accreditation from DMAP," said Greg Ortale, president and CEO of the GHCVB. "We are very pleased to be recognized in the destination marketing community for providing outstanding services in accordance with international standards and benchmarks in this field."

DMAP accreditation standards cover a wide variety of topics including governance, finance, management, human resources, technology, visitor services, group services, sales, communications, membership, brand management, destination development, research/market intelligence, innovation and stakeholder relationships.

"By applying for and receiving DMAP accreditation, the GHCVB has demonstrated a commitment to quality programs and services, said Jack Wert, DMAP Board Chair. "DMAP accreditation communicates to Houston community stakeholders and potential visitors that the GHCVB has attained a measure of excellence assuring that their trust is well placed and their business is in good hands."

The Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau is the official destination sales and marketing arm of the City of Houston and Harris County. The mission of the GHCVB is to improve the economy of Greater Houston by attracting conventions, tourists and film projects to the area through sales and marketing efforts.
